Accommodation
There is a good range of options to suit most needs and budgets. There is an excellent full-service hotel with an international resort style setting; many self catering fale or cottage style units; guest-houses and backpacker options. All service expectations are covered. Some accommodation providers have pools, many have air conditioning, most have views, and all are clean and charming.

Restaurants
A variety of Polynesian and European food is available in Niue. Naturally, many tropical fruits grow and depending upon the season most can be bought at the local market or ‘makete’ run every Tuesday and Friday morning in central Alofi, the capital.
Traditional local foods such as coconut crab ‘uga’, taro ‘talo’, breadfruit, cassava, shellfish are also for sale – but be early!

Climate
Niue is a tropical island, warm during the day with a pleasant drop in temperature at night all year round. Like all South Pacific tropical islands, summer is from May – October and Winter from November to April.

Getting Around
The 64 km road circling Niue is mostly sealed, as are most inland routes between the main town and the surrounding villages. Local sea and bush tracks connect everything else most of these are not sealed.

Health
The Niue Foou Hospital is located at Kaimiti, Alofi. Clinic Hours Mon-Fri 8am - 4pm, Sun & Public Holidays 9am - 10am & 7pm – 8pm ph 4100.Emergency ph 999. Charges for health services will apply to all visitors.
Safe drinking water is from natural spring and rain water but there is bottled water available if preferred. If you have any special concerns, please check with the Visitor’s Information Centre, email info@niueisland.com or contact your nearest travel agent before departure.
