Baiting and hunting the Uga (Coconut Crab) is also an exciting opportunity and a must do on Niue.

    The vessel is fully equipped with the latest shimano game rods and reels, and our safe ship management system includes EPIRB, colour GPS and depth sounder electronics, VHF and satellite phone.

    Your profession skippers Andy and BJ have between them, Maritime NZ ILM and Padi Divemaster qualifications respectfully.

    Charters are customised to your requirements, all fishing styles covered and top quality lures, poppers, jigs, stick baits and fresh baits included to suit.

    Niue Vanilla Tours

    Located in the village of Tuapa, this guided 2 hour guided tour shows visitors around a vanilla plantation and highlights some of the many uses of the plant. The plant flowers between the months of May – August and being able to view the flowers being pollinated by hand makes for a worthwhile trip. The tour will also include an over view of the harvest shed where the vanilla beans are processed. Light refreshment is provided

    Noni Farm

    Located on the southern side of the island just past the village of Vaiea it was originally cleared for a dairy farm, since then it has been used as both a passion fruit farm and a quarantine station, then finally converted into a Noni farm in late 2004. The farm now has 18,000 noni trees and exports products to New Zealand and Asian markets. Enquire at the Visitor’s Information Centre for opening hours and tours.

    Discover what lies beyond the peaceful Village Green on the "Avatele Village Tour"

     

    On the walkk through the village you will learn about the history, daily life, local customs and food preparation. Visit the old Liolau School and walk down to Avatele Beach. Hear about the local weaving, canoes and village fishing traditions, marine food gathering and the legend of Mataginifale.

    An opportunity to view family treasures, which include the "Kafa"(gridle made of womens hair) worn by a chief warrior during the war between Motu and Tafiti, original war clubs (ulumiti), spears (katoua) and others. Join Kuso on Thursday afternoon for this special village tour experience - you will not be dissapointed. Kuso has lived in Avatele all his life and has a wealth of stories and experiences to share. Resort transfer can be arranged for Matavai guests or self drive (1km south of Matavai) to Avatele and gather to the right of the village green by the war memorial.

  • Island Discovery Tour

    Toamana’s orientation tour will introduce the first time traveler to the Island and bring repeat visitor up to date on some of the exiciting things to see and do in Niue.  As you start the tour you will drive through the main village of Alofi, stopping off at strategic locations and finally ending up at the Matapa Chasm for a swim before returning to your accommodation. The tour usually takes place on a Saturday morning and is approximately 3 hours. A minimum of six is required.
