Fakaalofa atu and Welcome to the Rockman Niue Event Homepage!!

All the event details will be placed here and if you have any questions just send us an e-mail on info@niueisland.com

There’s one Air New Zealand flight a week, so the ride you get from Auckland takes you back a week later, so make sure you bring your mountain bike, goggles and an underwater camera.

Travel options can be found on www.niueisland.com and a great travel package from Wildside Travel if you are quick on www.wildsidetravel.co.nz

However if you want to do your own arrangements Air New Zealand are always doing good flight deals, check out their web site for details and remember to tell them that you are bringing a bike, then look up the local accommodation using the tab above.

You will leave Auckland on a Saturday and arrive in Niue on Friday afternoon. On arrival we plan to give you a Rockman week information pack. Then you will have Friday evening and Saturday & Sunday to relax.

What’s on offer is 1 Week, 4 Races, and 2 Titles – Rockman & Rockwoman with thousands in prize money up for grabs.

The 4 events will be held over consecutive days. This enables competitors to experience the course on which they will race during the Rock-Tri, the off-road triathlon which concludes the week with Two ROCKMAN Titles will be awarded at this finale.

Day 1 – Monday 5th November – Run 8km,

Day 2 – Tuesday 6th November - MTB 40km,

Day 3 – Wednesday 7th November - Ocean Swim 1km and

Day 4 - Thursday 8th November - The Rockman Triathlon

- putting it all together Swim 1k, MTB 40k and Run 8k.

The 4 events on the menu will cater for the first-timer to the seasoned pro athlete.

You will stand shoulder to shoulder on the Alofi Wharf start-line for the Rock-Swim, a 1km open ocean swim then the Rock-Bike will be a 40km mountain bike race and the Rock-Run, a 8km trail/jungle run all starting and finishing from Alofi Wharf.

Racing is planned for the early – mid morning allowing plenty of time to enjoy what Niue has to offer in the afternoon.

What an amazing place, Niue is what the Pacific used to be, slow, quiet and a little romantic. The place is almost un-touched since it was forced out of the ocean many years ago, however they say that she will fall into a massive under water canyon in a 100,000 years’ time so you will need to be quick to see her before she sinks back into the ocean. It won’t take long to realize that the ocean is so crystal clear, water activities are a necessity along with the many bike and walk tracks that are on offer to busy the day away. Niue is a place to be ‘Discovered’ and there are great rewards for those that do.  Evenings are an opportune time to relax at many local bar & cafes which are varied in themes and styles around the main town area.

So if you have ever wanted to race off-shore and wanted to be involved in something quite special then checkout the Rockman and become an Original Rockman competitor.

ARE YOU READY TO BE ROCKED??!!

So don’t forget to bring your snorkeling gear and a sunhat with you….it’s more than just a race!!
